    Humour is a great way of approaching fear. I don’t think I could slaughter anything bigger than a slug. My grandmother used to ‘pluck’ chickens. I guess that nowadays most of us are pretty remote from what we eat.

    Great poem!! Chickens have such creative names.

    I also put great value on farm raised meat but I tried slaughtering chickens once. I will leave it for the more stout at heart. I couldn’t eat it after it was done.
